As immigration enforcement operations ramp up under President Donald Trump, immigrant students who get in trouble in school are at increasing risk of being deported. Many school districts have passed resolutions pledging to keep Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents off campuses and out of classrooms. But other school districts have remained vague about what information they share with law enforcement officials. We’re looking for cases where suspensions or other school discipline triggered a law enforcement chain that led to a student being detained by ICE.
