ProPublica is a nonprofit newsroom that investigates abuses of power. Sign up to receive our biggest stories as soon as they’re published.
At ProPublica, we use journalism to expose abuses of power and betrayals of the public trust. Much of our reporting is fueled by the people who share their experiences, expertise and inside knowledge with us. If you’re a current or former federal government employee, your insight could make a big difference.
Decisions made in Washington can shake people’s lives across the U.S. and beyond. In the last few months, our reporting revealed that the U.S. Department of Agriculture is allowing already dangerous chicken plants to accelerate operating speeds without regard to worker safety, that the IRS is more likely to audit the poorest taxpayers because doing so is cheaper and that there’s a Facebook group where Border Patrol agents joke about migrant deaths.
We know there’s a lot we have yet to uncover. That’s where you come in. If there’s something happening at your agency that you think we should look into, let us know, even if you’re not sure how big of a deal it is. If it’s making you uneasy, we want to hear about it.
We also want to tap your knowledge when we’re looking into issues relevant to your agency or area of expertise. Please fill out the form if you’re open to one of our reporters contacting you when we’re reporting on something you might know about.
We take your privacy and trust very seriously. ProPublica will never voluntarily share your personal information or anything that would identify you to your employer without your permission.
If you have documents related to your tip, you can attach those through this form. If it’s something particularly sensitive, you should use one of the more secure methods listed here:
